Resources: Funding focus - Development Awareness Fund: Mini Grants

1 min read

What will it fund? The grants are linked to the overall aims of DfID's Development Awareness Fund and applicants are urged to read the strategy paper Building Support for Development before applying. Inviting a youth dance group from The Gambia to share their skills and show their colourful costumes won't be enough, though if Gambian dance is part of a learning process that goes on to raise awareness of issues of interdependence between the UK and Gambia and the need to reduce global poverty, then you might stand a chance. The learning should explore participants' own experience of the global at local level, challenging existing thinking and developing the practical skills and confidence to be active global citizens. Successful applications will be distinct projects rather than core programme work and will have realistic development education objectives.
