What will it fund? There are three categories of grant. Local projects for local issues that young people have said are important to them, social inclusion projects operating over a wider area and a New Ideas fund to try out innovative approaches. There are priorities for the fund of enabling teenage girls to take part in activities on an equal basis with boys, helping overcome barriers to volunteering, young people with "many long and complicated" problems, and young people who do not have positive relationships with their family or community. The fund is also especially keen to fund projects that promote active citizenship, those that bring together young people from different backgrounds and those that help them adopt active, healthy lifestyles.
