Who is it for? Grants generally go to groups that help meet the needs of those at greatest disadvantage and to improve the quality of life in the community. Organisations do not have to be registered charities but they must have been founded for charitable, benevolent or philanthropic purposes. There are a number of programmes to suit different organisations.
These include grants for large (over 60,000) and medium-sized (500-60,000) projects, strategic grants for UK or England-wide projects, international grants for UK-based organisations running development projects abroad and a programme of research grants for voluntary organisations involved in social and medical research.
