What will it support? This is a Big Lottery Fund capital programme that seeks to support the development of facilities that provide a focus for a community - that's a community defined by geography or by a shared culture or interest. It will support the purchase of land or buildings, refurbishment or extension of existing buildings or possible further construction.
Projects must be for buildings that complement other facilities available and potential users must have been identified and consulted and preferably involved in running and managing the project. Security of tenure is required and the project should have long-term financial viability as well as a minimum negative impact upon the environment. Some revenue costs such as the recruitment of staff, training of volunteers and publicity for the project may also be met.
