Resources: Funding focus - Community Libraries

1 min read

What will it fund? The fund says it does not want to prescribe what activities libraries should offer, but wants them to be spaces that are "exciting and accessible to all" - so actions could include reading and writing groups, language classes, family learning activities, cultural activities, health activities such as wellbeing classes, or information seminars about local volunteering. Among each project's outcomes - at least two are required - are increased capacity as centres of community learning and development, more use by disadvantaged groups or non-users, better design and greater accessibility, stronger links with the voluntary and community sector, and greater energy efficiency.
