What will it fund? Playful Ideas supports projects that allow children to enjoy novel experiences and explore different ways of choosing and controlling their own play environment. Other priority outcomes are to provide new ways of including children and young people who have been previously denied play opportunities and creating new ideas and approaches that can be replicated elsewhere. So examples might include involving a local disability group in coming up with new play activities that will enable young people with disabilities to take part in an open access play scheme. Another example in the guidance is a research project to look at how best to provide play opportunities within the prison system that can allow family bonds to be maintained during sentences. Capital and revenue grants are available for projects lasting up to five years.
