Resources: Funding focus - BASIS

1 min read

What will it fund? Projects by infrastructure bodies to help them provide expert, consistent and sustainable services to voluntary and community sector organisations. These will include small or new groups, established charities, social and community enterprises and groups that target particular communities. It is looking to support activities such as provision of training courses, mentoring or buddying schemes, consultancy, creation of training materials, and management-development activities such as achieving accredited awards. Other possible areas include volunteer development, campaigning, fundraising support, research and media training. Funding can be for capital or revenue purposes and can support local, regional or national projects.

Who will it fund? Groups whose main or only purpose - as stated in their governing documents - is to support the work of other voluntary and community sector groups. That can include charities, co-operatives and other social enterprises, but not statutory or for-profit organisations.
