What will it fund? Applicants must firstly address one of four priority outcomes: people have the opportunity to achieve their full potential; people can actively participate in their communities to bring about positive change; there is community ownership of better and safer rural and urban environments; and improved physical and mental health for all people.
In addition the proposal must match one of two principles, either addressing disadvantage and promoting tolerance and social inclusion or contributing to the reduction of poverty. Finally, there is a range of other Northern Ireland priorities, but if you meet the other criteria then you will probably meet one or other of these: building community capacity, improving community facilities or promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing. This is primarily a revenue programme, though capital costs can be included of no more than 10 per cent of the total requested if they are directly related to the project, up to a maximum of 50,000.
