Resources: Funding focus - Advice Plus

1 min read

What will it support? Projects that raise awareness of, increase access to or improve existing advice services, or the creation of new advice services where none currently exist. By advice it means projects that support people in using the services they might be entitled to, such as housing, education and health services or welfare benefits. Outcomes for the programme could focus on users having improved access to services or getting improved advice, or on advice organisations having more influence on policy and practice or being enabled to work more effectively. One example in the guidance is of a consortium of rural agencies combining to put facilities for video conferencing, scanning and faxing into a variety of key community venues, enabling people to access an advice service without having to travel to the nearest big town. Another focuses on training in welfare rights work for volunteer staff at a centre in a deprived area.
