What will it support? The funding is for revenue costs only and is designed to build the capacity of groups working with four specific types of organisations that may not have been reached by the Change Up programme: Black and minority ethnic groups; refugee and migrant groups; faith groups; and isolated rural groups. There are three types of project that will get priority.
Firstly, improving access to capacity building for frontline bodies, for example helping a loose network of refugee groups across a region to organise themselves and link in to other regional structures. Secondly, improving the capacity of infrastructure organisations serving these groups, for example helping an infrastructure body deliver a programme of support to small informal groups. And, finally, improving access to mainstream capacity-building support. Projects will need to have the support of the people who will benefit, have a measurable effect on frontline service delivery and leave a legacy beyond March 2008.
