Funding will also be available for service providers who provide support to organisations working with these communities.
How much is on offer: The total fund over three years is £18m, and the largest grant available yearly will be £150,000. Capacitybuilders anticipates receiving more than 800 applications, but will only be able to fund 100 of them.
What it will fund: The programme will fund activities that contribute to increasing an organisation's capacity. The funding will not make up gaps in public sector funding or fund short-term or one-off projects. It will also not fund organisa- tions that deliver mainstream, frontline public services.
Who can apply: Grants will be made available to frontline service providers working with excluded groups, including black and minority ethnic communities, refugee and migrant communities, faith communities and isolated rural communities. Capacitybuilders favours organisations that normally spend less than £1m a year, work in areas or communities that they haven't yet provided much funding for, are committed to promoting equality and demonstrate sustainability.
