What will it fund? The kind of projects most likely to be successful include: mentoring and peer support; advice and advocacy; skills development, especially financial literacy, basic skills and softer skills; and health and wellbeing projects, especially on self-esteem. The kind of young people that successful projects should be reaching include those leaving home or care, those trying to reintegrate into school after exclusion, those from low-income families starting college or university, and those starting work for the first time, especially where they are disabled or face other difficulties such as lack of qualifications. Projects that promote equality - such as through tackling discrimination or stereotyping against women, people with disabilities or those from minority ethnic groups - are also more likely to succeed.
