What does that include? I've helped the prison get an employment adviser to help the young men search for jobs related to their own skills. Part of my role has been to identify and develop relationships with external providers but, at the same time, develop a system for the prison that allows prisoners who want mentors to be put forward. I also have to bring together the various support mechanisms, so that every young person has access to an employment adviser, a mentoring co-ordinator and a mentor.

What's the most fulfilling aspect of your work? What I really love about the job is that every day is different and I do love the fact that I have regular contact and face-to-face work with prisoners. I feel very fortunate to have this level of confidence and trust placed in me by the prison and to be able to try out new ideas and see whether they work.
