Proposed Harmonised Data Standards and Definitions for the Children's and Young People's and Local Government Workforce

This joint consultation between the Department for Children, Schools and Families, the Local Government Association and the Children's Workforce Development Council is seeking views on proposed common data standards and definitions for the children's workforce.

The standards have been developed in response to local authorities' comments following the setting up of children's services. The current approach is fragmented and impedes the exchange of data. The new standards therefore aim to ensure the use of all data is based on common definitions, and will ensure organisations have access to the data needed for policy development, workforce planning and management. The results will be published by the autumn.

Closing date: 20 July
