- What's in it?

This is an opportunity for young people to comment on the Government's proposals to change the law so they have to stay in education and training until the age of 18. It is a youth version of the Raising Expectations consultation (YPN, 9-15 May, p10), and says young people who stay in education after 16 earn a lot more money than those who drop out.

- Plans include:

A requirement that young people remain in education until the age of 18 - they wouldn't have to stay in school, but would be required to do some sort of training or learning.
