What's in it?
This report looks back on what has been achieved since the Government published its response to the Children's Workforce Strategy in February 2006. It is an interim progress report on proposals due to be published this autumn.
PLANS INCLUDE: The report asks for responses on a number of areas. These include whether more should be done to integrate the youth and children's workforces; what should be the future role for sector skills councils in promoting workforce reform; and how integrated working can be better supported.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT IT: Jane Haywood, chief executive of the Children's Workforce Development Council, says: "We will be working closely with the Department for Education and Skills to ensure the further update to the strategy meets the needs of employers, the workforce, children, young people and families."
