Play: Lottery announces 1m of awards

The Big Lottery Fund is today (15 August) announcing awards of more than 1m to seven projects with a creative and innovative approach to play.

Under the Playful Ideas programme, charity Kids! in Dudley will receive249,000 for a project to help inclusion of disabled children intomainstream play settings.

"Superplay Clubs" will provide play opportunities for both disabled andable-bodied children.

In Sheffield, a project to develop play activities in a women's refugehas been awarded 250,000.

The Playful Ideas scheme is part of the Big Lottery Fund's 155mcommitment to support children's play.
