Participation: Parliament needs to do more to include young

The report, to be published at a conference organised by the Hansard Society, reviews the progress made since the publication 18 months ago of Members Only? Parliament in the Public Eye, which called for an overhaul in the way Parliament communicates with young people and the wider public (YPN, 25-31 May 2005, p2).

The commission, chaired by former film producer Lord Puttnam and informed by a working group of four young people, made recommendations for Parliament including working with other organisations to provide youth-friendly information materials, employing staff who are trained in working with young people and making facilities available to young people when Parliament is not sitting.
