The network, a coalition of more than 30 organisations set up to encourage young people's involvement in democracy, will be renamed and restructured over the next few weeks.
Raji Hunjan, director of education and democracy at Carnegie Young People Initiative, one of the organisations on the steering group for the relaunched network, said: "We don't buy into the view of young people being disengaged."
She added: "Young people are concerned about political issues, but there's a disconnection between that and what's happening within formal politics."
The group will draw up a programme of action to spread this message to decision-makers.
Chaired by Jules Mason, the British Youth Council's head of citizenship and development, it will include representatives from The Electoral Commission, the Hansard Society and the UK Youth Parliament.
