Opinion: If I were in charge of The Government - Jonathan Smith,17, West Sussex

1 min read
If I were in charge of the Government I would bring back national service.

I would do this because it would teach the youth of today somediscipline and respect for others, I believe this would reduceweapon-and gang-related crimes in our cities.

I would also bring in a law that means Britain could never adopt theeuro as its currency, I would do this because although there are a lotof benefits from being in the European Union I believe that using theeuro would lead to a loss of national identity.

I would change the voting age from 18 to 16, a lot of people my age havea strong interest in politics and find it unfair that they cannot vote, also I think that it would get more young people interested inpolitics.
