Aim To help young people get training and find employment
Young people who are out of work and at risk of getting into trouble with the police are getting help to pursue their passions as part of a new programme in the West Midlands.
Kickstart Life is an initiative for 16- to 19-year-olds not in education, employment or training. It is designed to help them find and remain in employment by providing access to education, skills, qualifications and support.
Young people starting the course, which lasts between 20 and 30 weeks, are assessed by tutors to gauge their learning ability and the training they need. The programme delivers basic skills support such as literacy and numeracy, personal and social development, and employability skills.
