A photography project in the North East is helping to show young offenders alternative life choices.

Aim To explore different life choices through photography

Youth offending teams (YOTs) in the north east of England have teamed up to put on a photography project as part of a community punishment package.

Twelve young people, aged between 16 and 18, took part in the Choices arts project as part of a wider programme of support and intervention through Northumberland Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Programme (ISSP).

The project allows the young people to work alongside some of the region's top photographers. Through weekly two-hour workshops, the group investigated capturing black and white, and colour images by using digital and pinhole photography.
