An initiative in Brighton & Hove is helping young offenders get involved with music.

Funding £10,000 for studio
Aim To boost creative talents

Brighton & Hove Youth Offending Service has opened a recording studio to boost the creative talents of young people who may otherwise find it difficult to get involved with music.

The project will see budding musicians test out their talents by producing CDs and podcasts. The studio is part of the Guerilla Sound Movement initiative, which aims to help young musicians find a voice through performing, recording, linking with other young artists and sharing skills and ideas.

The grassroots project is peer-led by young offenders with music production experience working on a voluntary basis to create an environment where young people are able to support each other.
