Aim To help young people understand the consequences of hate crime and tackle antisocial behaviour
Young people in Liverpool have been celebrating multi-culturalism as part of the Stop the Hate project, which is intended to promote diversity and stamp out hate crime. Young people from Edge Hill Youth Club, Kensington Fields Community Association, Kensington Youth Inclusion Project and Central Youth Club came together for activities including interactive computer sessions, drama workshops and interviews with immigrants.
The young participants also visited cultural buildings and places of worship, participated in religious celebrations and tasted foreign foods. The project culminated in a celebration at the Hindu Cultural Association, where more than 120 young people showcased their experiences through drama, poetry, artwork and dance.
