The province-wide service will give young carers access to their nearestsupport centre, regardless of which health and social services trustarea they live in, and access to social activities.
Northern Ireland's health minister Paul Goggins said the new servicewould help ensure young carers do not miss out on education or socialactivities.
Barnardo's Northern Ireland, which has been working with the Governmenton resources for young carers, welcomed the cash.
