NCB Now: Young recruiters trained and ready

1 min read
At NCB, young people are actively involved in the recruitment process of new staff and have contact with candidates while sitting on the recruitment panels. Seven young recruiters recently took part in a one-day induction session to learn essential recruitment skills.

The young recruiters developed their knowledge of the process of recruitment and selection through interactive training exercises. They gained an understanding of roles and responsibilities, equal opportunities, confidentiality, communication and decision-making skills, and what they can expect from NCB as part of their work. According to their feedback, the day developed their skills and confidence in supporting NCB's recruitment of new staff.

The cross, NCB project was developed by the participation unit, the council for disabled children and the human resources unit. Hanneke Koekkoek, NCB training and HR officer said: "The induction day was really insightful and it enabled us to incorporate the views of the young people into future planning of recruitment at NCB".
