The project, funded by the Department of Health, involved four young people who were invited to follow a regime of regular exercise and healthy eating for seven days. They kept a video diary, highlighting the challenges they faced. A mini-documentary, including video diary excerpts, was produced by The Kosh Film company, who filmed the entire project.
Discussions with the young people showed that the project helped to raise their awareness of healthy living, as well as that of their family and friends. As a result, the young people all made small but significant changes to the way they live.
"Although the challenge was a relatively simple concept, it has proved successful in actively engaging young people in the choices they make about their health," said Jo Butcher, principal officer in NCB's Children's Development Department.
