Funded by Department of Health and co-ordinated by NCB, this uniqueproject brings together for the first time an alliance of five leadingnational children's charities - NCB, Barnardo's, NSPCC, NCH and TheChildren's Society - to build capacity in responding to the substancemisuse needs of vulnerable young people.
The seminar, chaired by Tom Aldridge, young persons manager at theNational Treatment Agency, was attended by more than 60 people to hearabout emerging learning from the project. This includes a focus onchildren of drug misusing parents and young people in supportedaccommodation, as well as developing a children's service assessmenttool. Delegates discussed the contribution of the voluntary sector andopportunities for increased engagement to improve outcomes.
