Looking at the health agenda for disabled young people, Christine Lenehan, director of the Council for Disabled Children, spoke about the importance of promoting inclusion.
She called for professionals to share good practice in order to achieve the standards set by the national service framework.
The need for joined-up working was reinforced by the Department of Health's Hilary Samson-Barry, who reminded delegates of the culture change required to achieve key outcomes in Every Child Matters.
Sue Twemlow and Sue Dryden from Nottinghamshire Children's Trust provided an insight into the partnership arrangements they are developing.
"While trusts face barriers in prioritising children feedback at the meeting demonstrated delegates' commitment to overcoming them," said Jo Butcher, principal officer, NCB's children's development department.
