NCB Now: NCB hosts primary care trust meeting

1 min read
The integration of children's services and the health of looked-after children were the key themes for the second meeting of the Primary Care Trust (PCT) Network, held at NCB on 29 September.

The meeting provided an early opportunity for children's leads in PCTs to discuss the National Service Framework (NSF) for Children and its implications for services.

Claire Phillips, project manager, Children's NSF, Department of Health, provided an overview of the framework's key messages and answered questions from participants.

NCB has played an influential role in the development of the NSF. Many of the charity's experts were involved in planning a number of the standards while Paul Ennals, NCB chief executive, chaired the external working group on the Healthy Child and was a key member of the NSF strategy group.

"The overwhelmingly positive response to the network's second meeting demonstrates PCTs' commitment to discussing health's role in providing child centred services,"said Joanne Butcher, principal officer, NCB's children's development department.
