The day allowed carers and children to gain information about healthycare. A strong message from the consultation was the need for aninformation DVD about health assessments.
A bid for a DVD project was accepted by the Government Office for WestMidlands and Care Services Improvement Partnership, and in April a groupof looked-after young people and staff met with Pablo Productions.Working with Pablo, the young people devised and produced a Legoanimated film, explaining health assessments for looked-afterchildren.
The evaluation of the young people's feedback showed not only enjoymentof the process, but enhanced self-esteem and wellbeing. They wereenthusiastic and committed and saw their individual contributions asvaluable.
