NCB Now: New briefing on bereavement

A new briefing paper from the NCB's Healthy Care programme looks at how important it is to recognise the impact that bereavement has on looked-after children and young people.

Children and young people in care experience losses in their lives. All of them will have been separated from their birth family but some experience the death of someone close to them.

Bereavement, Loss and Children and Young People in Care, provides examples of how Healthy Care Partnerships and local bereavement services are supporting looked after young people who have experienced bereavement, as well as signposting information and resources to help carers and staff.
