With the announcement in July at NCB's Summer Reception, that the Department for Education would review the Early Years Foundation Stage and recent discussion on early intervention services and childcare practices, NCB's Early Childhood Unit's (ECU) extensive experience has never before been such an important resource for practitioners working in the field.
Since 1986, ECU has been working on a range of issues across the early years sector (aged from birth to eight) and through a variety of approaches including primary research, practice development, consultancy, training and networking. Today, ECU supports five national networks that cover local authority early years staff, the early years voluntary sector, black practitioners and quality improvement staff.
