Aimed at promoting the positive development of children and young people, Make a Connection in the UK consists of a life skills teaching resource for schools. In the next phase of the project the remit will be widened to focus on the community, supporting the five key outcomes identified in Every Child Matters.
The three-year project will initially work with five local authorities from urban, rural and seaside settings, to develop the life skills of young people in their area. Each authority will receive expert advice from a consultant, and participants will be encouraged to share best practice with other areas. The project will also bring together a nationwide advisory group with representatives from a variety of children and young people's groups.
