NCB Now: NCB project to focus on refugee children

NCB's Children's Residential Care Unit has secured DfES funding for a project with the Medical Foundation for Care of Victims of Torture to develop good practice for asylum and refugee children in need.

The unit and the Medical Foundation will work with two local authorities as well as with young asylum and refugee children to analyse their needs.

Sally Bamsey, Children's Residential Care Unit manager said: "The findings will help in the development of effective practice that takes account of recent legislation."

The project aims to develop good practice that can be disseminated nationally. NCB will be recruiting a principal officer to work on this project
