NCB Now: NCB to launch Skills Development Programme

1 min read
Could your organisation give someone aged 16 to 24 the opportunity to work within the third sector? NCB's Skills Development Programme (SDP) is a brand new initiative supporting third sector organisations to employ and skill up young people who are seeking work.

Young people employed on the programme will receive training and support to make a valuable contribution to your organisation, while gaining qualifications and workplace experience. As an infrastructure organisation, NCB wants to address the issue of young people within its own workforce, as well as support third sector organisations to employ and upskill young people, especially those who would not usually be able to gain employment in this sector.

Young employees on the SDP will participate in a comprehensive month-long induction programme based at NCB. Individual learning plans will be developed to ensure participants are prepared to take on their jobs, and they will be assigned a mentor to help them address any issues. Additional support will be offered to those requiring help with skills such as literacy or numeracy.
