"Participation is a process where someone influences decisions about their lives and this leads to change. Change can be in young people themselves (skill or knowledge development or a change in attitudes), within a service (such as different opening hours), or in society (better perception of young people contribution)." Participation Works definition.
Participation has always been at the heart of NCB's work and the Participation and Skills Centre, formed in July 2010, aims to bring all of this important work together by focusing on developing quality participation programmes.
The major programmes currently run by the Participation and Skills Centre are Participation Works, Youth4U - Young Inspectors and the Skills Development Programme.
