NCB Now: Skills development initiative at NCB

1 min read
On 29 March, five new employees from NCB's Skills Development Programme (SDP) commenced their one month induction at NCB.

The SDP is a new initiative, run by NCB that supports community and voluntary sector organisations to employ and develop the skills of young people who are not in education, employment or training (Neet).

The employees received four weeks of training, covering IT skills, internal communications, workplace etiquette, setting goals, equality in the work place, and developing practical skills to complement work place training. Three of the employees will stay on at NCB in roles within facilities, library and information service, and e-publishing, with others to take up positions in administration at Children's Rights Alliance for England and campaigns at the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services.
