NCB Now: High-quality services for all children

1 min read
Based at NCB, the Early Childhood Forum (ECF) is a coalition that brings together representatives from the early childhood sector, and it has chosen ECU's Firm Foundations Campaign as its focus for 2010/2011.

The campaign makes the case for investment in high-quality services for all young children, an aim that seems all too pressing during these difficult fiscal times.

In their work, ECF will continue to emphasise the importance of high-quality early childhood experiences and will highlight the wealth of research and evidence to support the prioritisation of early childhood support and interventions.

In recent weeks ECF has turned its attention to the Academies Bill. The bill will enable all maintained primary, secondary and special schools to apply to become academies and ECF is concerned about the impact of the bill on the education and care of young children, under the Early Years Foundation Stage.
