Amid some concern in the sector about the future of early years provision, the campaign aims to build and establish a broad coalition of organisations and individual parents and families, practitioners and policymakers, to evidence and promote good practice and experiences in early years.
It is intended to improve public understanding of how early years settings and the Early Years Foundation Stage quality framework, support and promote equality and children's learning and development through play.
The campaign's objectives include: universal entitlement to high-quality education and care, meaningful partnership with parents and families, greater investment in early years education and care to reduce inequality, and the development of a good quality early years workforce through improved training, pay and conditions. The campaign will also promote the need to recognise key achievements in the development of early years services over recent years.
