Founded in 2000, Netmums is a family of sites set up and run by mothers to offer support and advice on everything from how to eat healthily, to where to meet other mothers. Parents are supported by a team of experts that include health visitors, relationship counsellors and legal advisers.
In a recent politics survey of 5,900 Netmums users, childcare came out as one of the top three issues that members said they would be voting on in the forthcoming election, with 39 per cent of members saying they wanted better childcare to help mums wanting to work, and 70 per cent reporting that they had felt let down by childcare at some point.
