1 min read
In the last weekend of February, the Department for Children, Schools and Families' (DCSF) Children and Youth Board had their latest residential meeting, where the group of 25 young people commented on the Pupil and Parent Guarantee, Sex and Relationships Education Guidance, and the Family and Relationships Green Paper.

The latter of which the board have continuously informed and influenced since the start of their first meeting in August. This work included going out and conducting surveys with other children and young people in their regional areas.

The DCSF Children and Youth Board is made up of 25 children and young people aged eight to 18, who advise officials and ministers on policy that affects children and young people in England. Members of the board, which is facilitated by NCB, were recruited in July 2009 from across England.

Since they have been in the post, the board members have been consulted and commented on a variety of new DCSF policy areas, including emotional health and post-16 education.
