Each regional co-ordinator will identify and co-ordinate anti-bullying initiatives in their region. They will also work with schools and local education authorities to support them in addressing bullying.
In addition, they will link with other groups such as youth organisations, health workers and parent support services.
One of the co-ordinators' first tasks will be to develop events in schools and communities for Anti-Bullying Week, which will take place across the country from 22 to 26 November.
Vanessa Cooper, national co-ordinator for the alliance, commented: "Having a network of regional co-ordinators increases our reach nationally but also brings in a wealth of valuable information. All our co-ordinators have their own area of expertise as well as examples of fantastic work happening at local level."
