George Robinson and Barbara Maines, directors of Lucky Duck Publishing and the alliance's South West co-ordinators, said there was "no way" they would promote their theory, which has been criticised for failing to deter school bullies (Children Now, 18-24 August), as the only approach to tackling bullying.
"We made it clear in our bid for (alliance) money that one of our main tasks was to bring all the directors of education in the South West together to develop a unified approach," said Robinson.
Gill Frances, director of children's development at the National Children's Bureau (NCB) and manager of the anti-bullying programme, said all the new co-ordinators had to commit to promoting all methods of tackling bullying.
