NCB Now: Young people lead bullying protest

1 min read
The West Midlands network of the Anti-Bullying Alliance has launched a new billboard campaign in Birmingham calling for an end to bullying.

The posters, which have been designed by young people, promote the message that bullies have often been bullied themselves and that this cycle must be stopped.

As part of the campaign 200,000 postcards will be distributed to young people, inviting them to share their ideas and experiences on a dedicated regional anti-bullying web site.

Birmingham City Council is also sending all schools in the city a comprehensive pack, Together we can stop bullying, which has been revised and updated by the city's health education unit and education welfare service.

Led by Adrienne Katz from charity Young Voice who co-ordinates the alliance's work in the West Midlands, the campaign is in partnership with Vodafone, Birmingham City Council and the city's Youth Offending Service.
