NCB Now: Young Anti-Bullying Alliance - one year on

A year ago, ABA and its member organisation the Diana Award joined forces to establish the Young Anti-Bullying Alliance (Young ABA), which aims to put children and young people at the heart of tackling bullying within their schools and communities.

We have been very busy since then and the board of Young ABA, which was formed to guide its work, has grown and become stronger, as have the young people themselves. Now there are 18 board members, two from each government region in England.

Bullying continues to be a problem for too many young people, but Young ABA is working hard with its partners to give young people the opportunities to share their expertise on how bullying can be both prevented and addressed. Over the past year, Young ABA has worked with the team of ABA regional advisers supporting regional anti-bullying events, and has shown how the participation of children and young people can create and reinforce positive agendas in the area of anti-bullying work.
