NCB Now: Children and Youth Board for 2007

NCB has been commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills to set up a new Children and Youth Board for 2007-2008, following the success of last year's board.

NCB are now recruiting 25 children and young people aged eight to 18 tobecome board members.

The role of the Children and Youth Board will be to advise theGovernment on issues that affect children and young people in England.Board members will also be tasked with finding out the views of otheryoung people and promoting their voices to Government.

One Children and Youth Board member from 2005-2006, said: "The board hashelped me gain confidence and given me the opportunity to have a say inGovernment policy. I have met a great bunch of people, both adults andyoung people alike and I am proud that I have contributed to somethingthat will affect young people in the future."
