NCB Now: Child centred care system explored

1 min read
Delegates at a seminar held in Belfast on 27 October explored the possibility of building a child centred care system in Northern Ireland.

Hosted by the Office of the Children's Commissioner for Northern Ireland, in association with NCB and the Voice of Young People in Care, the seminar examined a project undertaken by the Blueprint Team in England to identify the characteristics of a child centred care system and gauged delegates' interest in taking forward a similar project in Northern Ireland.

Claire Chamberlain and Kate McBye, members of the Blueprint Project, talked about the process of the Blueprint Project and its messages.

Professionals and young people attending the seminar discussed plans to replicate this project in Northern Ireland, with Vivian McConvey, the Voice of Young People in Care's director, leading a workshop on whether and how to progress the proposals.
