NCB Now: Looked-after children to have their say

1 min read
Children who are looked after and living away from home are a key group among users of children's services.

A number of young people from Voypic (Voice of Young People in Care) will talk about the services they receive and how they could be improved at NCB's annual Northern Ireland Children's Conference, being held in Dunadry on 6 April.

Chaired by Nigel Williams, Northern Ireland's commissioner for children, the event will examine how to make services more child-centred. Delegates will hear the latest research findings and can also attend workshops on issues such as remand fostering and involving care leavers in developing policies and services.

Anne Campbell of the University of Ulster at Magee and Dave Crimmens of the University of Humberside will examine research in Northern Ireland and across the UK on staff morale in children's residential care.
