In July, staff from The NYA held a training event for more than 30 professionals in South Tyneside to help them make the best use of the materials. Staff worked with teachers, councillors, youth workers and social workers, going through each unit, giving them a taste of what each segment was about, and allowing time for participants to consider how each unit could best match their particular work with young people. Attendees then had the opportunity to pull out what they considered to be the most useful aspects and deliver them to young people. A second such day is scheduled to take place in South Tyneside before Christmas.
